Are We Crazy?

I was riding my bike along Lake Ivnahoe and noticed a city truck in the distance.
As I got closer I noticed a man in the middle of the road spraying a liquid, which I thought was water. Sometimes they open a Fire Hydrant and spray the streets.
Riding my bike through the liquid I realized my mistake. The brick street was drenched with this foul smelling chemical. I asked what he was spraying. "Herbicide! It won't hurt you." I was covered with the chemical, as the tires sprayed it all over me. What are we thinking. The street is ten feet from the waters edge. There is a constant flow of joggers, walkers, children, pets, wildlife, and cyclists on the street. Waterskiers, boaters, swimmers, and fishermen using the lake.

Combine this with the runoff of Fertilizers and Insecticides that are sprayed on
the lawns surrounding the lake. I noiced signs along the shore this week warning people to "KEEP OFF" because of the 'danger' of the insecticide that was sprayed on the grass. What a lovely park. Please stay off, we have just poisioned the grass surrounding the lake, also the street, as well as the lake.

Have a Good Day!
